Who's missing ??

Throughout history you can see many examples of discrimination, or inequality. Be it the unequal rights of marriage, conveniences, employment, jobs, pay,  opportunities, and religious freedom. One of the most important reasons for studying history is so we don't repeat the same mistakes. As humans, we have not completely learned from our past. Many of the issues fought by leaders and activists are still present today, and being fought all over the world.

Learning from hero's of the past

As we learned The Dinner Party represents 39 influential women of history, and describes the challenges they faced. I have narrowed it down to 3 people, and only want you to pick one! I want you to figure out why this women was represented in this art work, and take note how Judy Chicago represents these struggles and accomplishments through her art work.

Questions to think about......

  • What was her accomplishment?
  • Did she face any challenges?
  • What type of discrimination would that be?
  • Did these women try to improve conditions for women in the future?

Think about these questions and be prepared to answer them on the reflection page.
