What we can do.........
Think about the purpose of current social networking sites, Facebook, My-space, You Tube, and Twitter. These are all spaces you can voice your opinions, ideas, and connect with others. Each site asking you to show your passion, and make a difference. be it a picture of you and friends, or a video you found funny on the internet. Those sites wouldn't survive if people were not passionate in connecting with others. It takes a voice, an idea, and passion to change the world.
I would like you to close your eyes and think about what you will be doing 10 years from now.
I want you to think about what that profession is like today. Is there inequality between men, women, races, or genders? Is that job accepting of people with disabilities? Is age or religion a factor in getting hired?
Its important for change to start now, so in 10 years equality can be for everyone. Creating change takes more than just you, or even your class. Creating change requires you to reach out to the whole population. Just like the viral videos found on you tube, or Facebook posts, or twitter feeds do.
I would like you to choose a discrimination likely to be found in this job, and get passionate about changing it. I would like you to create a creative inspirational video in which you encourage this change. Explain to viewers why this change is important, and how to go about this change. You will need to get into groups of four or five, and discuss your main topic. Discuss between your group how this change would affect your future job, and how to deliver the message in a engaging way. I would like you to use the vocabulary we have become familiar with- Equity, Empowerment, and Discrimination.
You need to create a story board for your video to organize your thoughts and points, and what everyone will be saying. I would like you to upload the scanned images of your story board to the student blog. If no scanner is present a photo of of the story board is acceptable.
Here are a few tools to help explain a story board, and templates to follow.

- What will your profession be?
- Where will it be located?
- Will you be in a building in the city, or in a rural setting?
- Will you be a boss or an employee?
- What will your co-workers be like?

After your concept and organization is in place, its time to start filming.
Using either a digital video recorder, or a digital camera with video capabilities, start filming using your story board as a guide.
Once filming is complete you will need to edit your video using Movie Maker. Every group member will need to have their say in editing to create the most effective creative video.
